Adelaide Plains Football League

The Adelaide Plains Football League (APFL) is an Australian rules football competition based in the Adelaide Plains region immediately north of Adelaide. It is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League. The APFL formed on 4 May 1909, after a meeting was held in Dublin to discuss formation of the Adelaide Plains Football Association with delegates present from Mallala, Virginia, Two Wells, Windsor, Lower Light and Dublin.

Over 100 years later and the APFL is still thriving having outlasted many nearby associations. The League currently has 8 teams participating; Angle Vale, Balaklava, Hamley Bridge, Hummocks Watchman Eagles, Mallala, Two Wells, United and Virginia.

The APFL competition has 6 Grades:

(And all Clubs run Official AFL Auskick Centres for 5-8 year olds)

The APFL is also affiliated with the Adelaide Plains Netball Association and work together to bring the community together through sport.
